  • Mattie was born and raised in North Georgia where she started her artistic journey though school plays, dance class, and choir. Her influences spanned between the Appalachian Mountains down to Atlanta where she saw her first show, Beauty and the Beast, at the Fox Theatre. In her high school years, Mattie had the honor to attend the Governor’s Honor Program for Theatre and was awarded All-Star Improviser at the 2020 Georgia ThesCon.

Mattie then pursued a BFA in Theatre Studies and a Certificate in Leadership and Entrepreneurship from Texas Christian University. She spent four years in the heart of Fort Worth, TX where she continued her pursuit to perform, direct, and design.

  • Each day we encounter small spectacles that inspire us. From feeling the sun shine to chatting with a stranger, we all participate in the grandeur show of life. In our modern society, we are facing a critical loneliness epidemic generated by post-pandemic living, political divide, and technological advancement. Though an individual cannot change this, I believe it is the responsibility of the artistic community to bring people together again.

As a theatre creative, it is my goal to not only create, but support productions and programs that aim to unify people once more. Humans were made for connection; art should replicate that base desire to be part of a community. In my work, I aim to direct or work on productions that meet that overarching theme of community and togetherness.
